Offered in a superb British-woven pure wool tweed, this wonderfully versatile skirt is a Bruar bestseller. With a knee-length cut providing an assured, contemporary feel, the sharp inverted pleats add flare and movement, as well as being slightly reminiscent of a kilt, though this skirt is far more flattering and wearable. About Tweed
Tweed s humble beginnings reach back to the early 19th century when it was first hand-woven in Scotland as warm, durable work wear for crofters. When the nobility of the British Isles stayed in Scotland they adopted tweed, wearing it on their grand Highland estates, particularly for country sports. With traditional designs including checks, herringbones and barleycorns, tweed has become an icon of British and Scottish style.
