What is the inspiration/ethos behind the brand?

Joules’ inspiration is the land the brand loves – the British countryside and the coast. Not only do these locations provide endless cues for all manner of colour palettes and prints, they’re also the places where Joules’ customers love to spend their time. Joules loves to create pieces that cater to their customers’ lifestyles, whether that be strolling through fields and woodlands at the weekend (whatever the weather) or hunkering down at home.



What makes a Joules product?

Every product Joules creates – whether it be a T-shirt or a teapot – starts with the customer in mind. Where will it be worn? How will it be used? And just how can they make it stand out from the crowd? Joules' in-house print team spend hours painting, drawing and mark-making to create designs that they know will catch the eye. Then there’s a unique use of colour. This could appear in the lining of a coat, on a shoelace or lovingly splashed all over a welly.

Joules also is focusing more on sustainability. With an increased desire to do better and be better, Joules is striving to be more responsible in all areas – fabrics and sourcing to name a few.

And of course, quality. There’s a belief at Joules that things should be built to last. When a piece is no longer a fit or loved (or outgrown), it will remain perfect to be passed on to family members or friends.



What does the Joules brand represent?

Joules celebrates its rural roots by designing clothing, accessories and homewares. It represents good clothes for good times. Making memories with those that matter the most are what Joules is all about.



What have been the biggest achievements so far for Joules?

It’s hard to say. From growing from one stand at a country show to a brand that now offers everything anyone could need to embrace a true country lifestyle, there have been many achievements along the way. It’s been one big adventure and although it hasn’t always been plain sailing, hopefully the best is yet to come!



As we are reaching the cooler, winter months, what would be some wardrobe staples or essentials for Joules?

Our Cherington showerproof padded coat is a classic and has become a favourite for many reasons. It has the ability to be adjusted depending on the weather with a hood that can be removed if it’s a little milder outside and a detachable faux fur trim that will add some cosiness to chilly days. We also love our new style short padded coat called Elberry which is water repellent, has a packaway hood, hem adjuster to fit your body and is available in fuchsia pink or arts craft floral for a more colourful cold-weather option. If it’s not quite padded coat weather, our Elvie fairisle jumper will be a hit with its intricate embellishment and snuggly mock-turtle neck which will keep you warm on walks until you come home to cosy up in Luna brushed cotton pyjama bottoms.
